asl - C++ Adobe source libraries impressions? -

I just stumbled on Adobe source libraries, this is similar to promoting templates and tasks under the MIT license. Some of the facilities used in the library have been very useful to me and I am now considering using it.

Although the library is very simple.

  • Have you used the ASL yourself? If so, what were your impressions? do you recommend it?
  • Does it work well with many types of compilers and platforms? IBM C ++, ICC, G ++?
  • Did you face quark / unexpected things?

Thanks

  1. ASL promotes heavy usage That is why it is not like Boost, as (in some cases) a relatively thin wrapper around Boost.
  2. "Big" pieces of ASL Adam and Eve. Most of the rest appear (and if memory works, actually is ) is slightly more than the support of those people.
  3. The ASL has not been updated in a while, and if what I provide in the rapper around Boost has not been done wrong, it is now included in Boost Libraries (the most Boost writers Has been briefly exposed to ASL because they were shown in the main presentation of Shawn Parent in Boston 1.) My own experience with them is a little mixed up. At one time, I used some of my Boost-wrapper classes, but within the IIRC, the next release or two, the bits I cared for were available in the boost without any rapper (though, I remember this Not exactly what they were pieces ...)

ADM and Eve are very good to play with different UI layouts and this way - but I never got them to the last version of any program No I've used it at least for me, it seems that they are primarily useful with a relatively complex UI. My impression was that if you find them very useful, then your UI probably needs work If you need Adam and Eve, to help you understand that your users can not understand either.

OTOH, at least in some cases where a dialogue is clear to a user, but the code for a developer is very low if you disable some control, as long as the other controls Values are not entered, and in this case, it can be very easy to ensure that until they rely on all the prices, the controls are disabled.
