unix - How to change the prompt in putty -

When I start a putty on a server, I get the prom prompts as below:

 < Code> hpbl802! Benjaminb: ~ [22] & gt;

How can I change this signal

  Benjamin: ~ [22] & gt;

This is not a confirmation, it is your shell that gives you quickness If you are using, try:

  PS1 = 'Benjamin: \ w [\!] & Gt; If this works, you can add two lines to your $ HOME / .bashrc server.

Information on and more.

If your shell is not bash, then you need to tell us what the shell is. The easiest way is to type a non-existent command on the command-line:

  $ 42-left: 42: command not found

The above tells me That's my shell bash.
