unix - When using vim or less in gnu screen, quitting vim or less leaves a lingering imprint -

On my new Ubuntu system, I start a screen session and edit a file in VIM or lower it After leaving me, the screen does not re-prepare itself, but just scrolls to show a command line under all screws which I was just looking at in vim or less.

How can I change it so that by leaving the Vim, how can I return to the screen before using Vem before using Wom?

The screen's altscreen (optional screen) feature is off by default.

Make it your . Add to Screenrc :
